Not all low smoke cables are the same. Low Smoke Halogen Free (LSHF) cables burn cleanly and do not emit more than 0.5% toxins during combustion, however the same cannot be said for Low Smoke and Fume (LSF) cables.
Some "LSF" cables are in fact Low Smoke Halogen Free whilst others can emit up to 15% smoke and toxins and are no better than a modified PVC. It depends on the quality of the manufacture - maybe a more appropriate name would be "Loads of Smoke and Fumes".
Normally the quality is reflected in the price.
