Flame Retardant Cables / Fire Resistant Cables - Do You Know The Difference?

A flame retardant cable will self extinguish when the source of a fire is removed, this limits the spread of fire. The most common standard is IEC60332-1.

Fire resistant cables will continue to operate and provide circuit integrity during a fire, commonly tested to IEC60331 and used on emergency circuits.
